POSITION VACANT: Senior Project Manager, Environmental Assessment
LOCATION: Home Based – Travel throughout BC / Canada
DESCRIPTION: ECL has a current opening for an experienced and highly motivated individual with excellent proven project management, environmental assessment and communication skills to join our exciting and professional team. The successful candidate will be an intermediate or senior professional with experience in provincial (BC) and federal (Canada) environmental assessment, ideally in relation to run of river or wind energy projects. The position is home based with all office equipment provided by ECL Environmental Solutions Inc.
Role: The successful candidate will lead and manage the EA process for numerous projects being progressed in tandem by ECL, ensuring they meet provincial and federal environmental regulations/legislation. The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills as the successful candidate will represent ECL and their clients at public, First Nations and other stakeholder events.
Requirements:
• Experience of Project Managing the planning, development and permitting of renewable energy projects .
• Has a minimum of 5 years project management experience in the same or similar industry.
• A strong track record in Project Management and use of MS Project.
• At least a bachelor’s degree in a related field, or be able to demonstrate equivalent education, training and personal development.
• Significant practical commercial experience of business development.
• Significant practical experience of producing tenders, winning competitive work and contract negotiation.
• Exceptional working knowledge of BCEAA and CEAA.
• Capable of working independently from home and managing an integrated team.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• Adaptability, and ability to cope with a wide variety of tasks.
• Exceptional writing skills and abilities in written reports.
• Thorough understanding of Health and Safety procedures and the ability to successfully implement ECL policies.
• Good IT skills, and experience using MS Office suite
• Professional registration or the ability to obtain registration (such as a Professional Engineer, Registered Professional Biologist or Professional Association of Planners).
• Experience with a range of environmental disciplines (air quality, noise, surface and groundwater quality, soils, vegetation, wildlife, hydrology fish and fish habitat, contaminated sites, socio-economics, archaeology, First Nations, etc.) is an asset.
• Previous experience supervising and directing a project team.
• A good listener and communicator, not averse to taking direction from others.
