National Roundtable Report

Canada needs a strong climate action policy and BC needs to be lauded for the policies it has put in place – indeed, now is not the time for BC to go soft on its leadership role having brought in the Clean Energy Act, Carbon Tax, Western Climate Initiative and Energy Plan.  This report by the National Roundtable shows that Canada would see strong economic growth across the country even if we led the United States in adopting a broad-based price on greenhouse gas pollution.  Simply matching US carbon prices would lead to Canada not meeting its national emission reduction targets.  The paper’s analysis shows that cutting greenhouse gas pollution in Canada is both affordable and feasible.

It vindicates the aggressive approach that BC has taken under Premier Campbell.
