Stephen is founder and President of Chinook Power Corp., a BC-based developer of wind energy. Chinook was successful in identifying and completing the initial development on Capital Powers’ 142 MW Quality Wind Project and is continuing to work with the BC Government, BC Hydro, First Nations and local communities on developing other wind project sites in BC.
Stephen has over 20 years experience in resource modelling, resource audits and information technology implementations at more than 30 resource-based operations around the world. He has held positions in exploration and mine geology, software sales, project management, marketing and sales management.
As an advocate for clean energy, he has been an active member of CEBC’s Wind Committee and Market Committee, is past Chair of the Wind Committee and is a former Director of CEBC’s predecessor, the Independent Power Producers Association of BC, from 2003-2008.
Stephen holds a BSc (Honours) in the Geological Sciences from Queens University. He is a registered member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
He believes that low cost, clean energy should be part of Government policy for acquiring new power as and when it is required.
